Child Hits When Task Feels Too Hard | What Parents Can Do
A child who hits when asked to do homework, get dressed, or complete a chore may be struggling with something that feels too difficult, confusing, or overwhelming. For kids with autism, what looks like refusing to cooperate may actually reflect a need for more support, clearer instructions, or a break. Helping your child communicate “This is hard” or “Can you show me?” while breaking tasks into manageable steps can make everyday responsibilities less stressful and build confidence over time.
